INDIA’S 2000-YEAR-OLD SECRET SOCIETY


Legends say that this secret society was founded by Emperor Ashoka the Great after his sad victory in the Kalinga War. The sight of bloodshed and death had transformed him to embrace the peace of Buddhism. He realized that the power of destruction could bring if knowledge fell into the hands of bad men.

It was then that he established a group of nine men honoring them with the responsibility of collecting, developing, and testing new scientific theories; each man was assigned a book that he had to review, update and make the final knowledge irreproachable.
